I started working for a major real estate franchise in Montgomery County, PA. They were a big player in the suburban market of Philadelphia. In my first year, I listed 63 homes, received many awards, became "rookie of the year," and had write-ups in many of the local newspapers.
I built the book of business on my own without any support from the brokerage. Heck, it took three months before the manager spoke to me. And when he did, he said my success was a fluke. Aggh.
But that's the void I discovered.

(by the way, they still had the binder in my office, smh)
In my journey, I discovered that regular folks like teachers, nurses, home health aides, graduate students, bloggers, door dashers, and Uber drivers who want to start a career in real estate have no chance of using the traditional model. You will be lost even if you make it past licensing and sponsorship by the broker of record.
But not on my watch!
